Lots of campaign world specific articles, heavy on the fluff, seems to be the new formula. Not terribly enticing to me, unfortunately, since I don't use any of the boxed campaign worlds, and can only occasionally find something worth cherry-picking.

Looks like May is the Month of Meh for this gamer. :|

Finally! Thri-Kreen love! Been waiting a year for this article. However I'm starting to loathe those "Eyes on . . ." articles in Dragon. They don't do anything for me as a DM or a player.

More than two player content articles in dragon magazine?!

This is an event unheard of since the time of myth and legend!

Quickly! Sound the horn of Thorlm Grimhammer! Let the Knights of Radgoth ride once again! Too long have we waited in shadow, paying six to ten dollars a month for two mediocre articles!

Ride now for Ruin. For Glory. For the Hope That There May Be a Reason to Pay this Month's Subscription Fee, and for the Red Dawn!

As a player in a dark Sun campaign and the DM of an Eberron campaign my reaction is the opposite: Yay for more campaign-specific material! :D

I cherry pick from EVERYTHING. So more content to cherry pick from is always good.

I've never understood someone complaining about a Forgotten Realms article, for example, because they don't play in FR. Is the content good enough to use in another campaign world? Then scratch out the serial numbers and use it.

I hear you, but sometimes it's more effort than it's worth to "scratch off the serial numbers" - or at least more than I have the time and patience for a lot of the time.

This largely depends on how much of the campaign world's flavour you are willing to tolerate porting along with the adventure, because with some of them, it completely permeates throughout. Even something as simple as names in a FR module. Renaming everything? Might as well just write my own!

I always like having maps to rip off though, so I shouldn't complain about that.

The puff pieces on the other hand about world lore and such? Those are utterly useless and uninteresting to me.
