Dragon Breath Feats?

Bill Muench

First Post
I remember seeing a group of new feats specifically for dragons that allowed them to modify their breath weapons. But for the life of me, I can't remember where. Anyone have a clue? Thanks!

(it may even have been a Draconic PrC rather than a collection of feats)

I only know Lingering Breath from the Wyrms of the North.

Lingering Breath [General]

Thanks to expanded lung capacity, your breath weapon lasts longer than most creatures.

Prerequisite: Breath weapon.

Benefit: Each use of your breath weapon lingers until the creature's next turn, and those entering or staying within the area of effect on the second round may take damage (see below). Those using Lingering Breath must decide before breathing that they are using the feat, otherwise the breath weapon acts as normal. Damage done in the second round is reduced by half. For example, a great red wyrm can normally breathe a cone of fire every 1d4+1 rounds doing 24d10 damage. A great red wyrm with the Lingering Breath feat can breath a cone of fire every 1d4+1 rounds that lasts 2 rounds, doing 24d10 damage the first round and 12d10 damage the second round.

Normal: Each use of a breath weapon normally lasts one round.

Maybe you mean feats from a d20 book like AEG´s "Dragons" or "Slayer Guide to Dragons"?

The Dragon Mystic prestige class gets this ability, which could be made into a feat...

Metamagic Breath Weapon (Su)
The dragon mystic can apply to his breath weapon the effect of one of the following metamgic feats that he knows: Empower Spell, Enlarge Spell, Maximize Spell, or Quicken SPell. Add the normal spell level adjustment to the 1d4 roll to determine when the dragon can breathe again. For example, a dragon mystic who enlarges his breath weapon would roll 1d4+1 to determine when he could breathe again, but would roll 1d4+4 to determine when he could breathe again if he had quickened his breath weapon. The dragon mystic can't apply the effects of a metamagic feat that he doesn't know. The dragon mystic may use this ability a number of times per day equal to his Charisma modifier of his age catagory (whichever is higher). If the dragon mystic has more than one breath weapon, the limit applies to total breaths (not seperately to each breath weapon). If the dragon mystic has no breath weapon, this ability has no effect.

Hmm, that's interesting. Where's the Dragon Mystic PrC from?

Dragon mag. The issue with the dragon slayer prestige classes. The Dragon Mystic, among others in that issue, is a prestige classes exclusively for dragons.
