Ok, I'll make this quick. Our party scried and jumped a huge white dragon in its lair which proceeded to use its solid fog ability on us. My necromancer cast dispel magic and dispeled caster level 15 (or 25 on the roll). The cleric dispelled caster level 17 (27 on the roll). Both failed to dispel the fog. Later the DM remarked that the dragons caster level was its hit dice.
I don't have a Monstrous Manual, but I think that a 12th level party would have a hard time if this was the case... any answers?
Oh BTW we eventually had to retreat because of sneaky RBDM tactics involving the dragon fighting within the fog and chowing down on party members (hooray for Dimension Door). Sadly, we lost one of the clerics.
