Dragon Disciple

You guys aren't catching the gist of this. melkorspawn is not the DM so he can't "just let her do it." The best he can do is solicit us for advice on how to do it per the rules and present it as an option. Don't get upset because we're trying to help him achieve his goal. The Bard is the quickest and simplest solution.

First of all, our group does not allow couples to play. It's not to be biased or mean, but there is a reason. We have had nothing but problems with players who have a girlfriend in the group. They either end up in a arguement or the thier in game pc's start paying particular attention to one another. A situation that wouldn't exist if they were not a couple.

Of course... but if melkorspawn doesn't even get it past the DM, then it won't happen in any case. :)

If the DM says no, then she simply has to accept it, I guess.

The really big question, however, is, how someone can look at the picture of the DD in the DMG and think "Hey cool, I want to be like that!"

Well, that's just a matter of self control. Seems silly to me, like refusing to hire someone because their spouse works for you.

And as for that... when I was first explaining D&D to her, she asked me two questions: 1) Can I fly? 2) Can I have a flamethrower? If this works out (Got my fingers crossed for this Friday's session when I find out) she can have both! :p

Heh, flamethrower and wings, check.

But, if she's all interested in turning into something weird - compared to those around her - check out the geomancer in the Complete Divine. My guess is that she'd go crazy over all those options. Granted - I realize the prereqs would keep her from ever playing it with this character, but it might get her mind thinking beyond fighter for the next character!

There's also the Pyrokinetic class in XPH. IMC the dragon disciple is planning on taking Pyro at later levels with the firebolt power emulating a breathweapon. There's redundancy there but the flavor is really good.
