The sidebar by the editorial (p. 8) in the new Dragon (#307) states that there will be a free 3.5e DM's screen with issue # 310 (the August issue) for anyone who is a subscriber by June 15th.

Very cool, Paizo.

I wasn't happy when they canceled the annual last year but in my opinion, this is better.

Yeah, I'm not sure if they mean subscribers only (not available in newstands) or if you can get it either way and they're just telling you to subscribe by 6/15 if you want to make sure that you get the issue.

I'm already subscribed so I'm all set either way.

Ken, did you hear about this already or are you just talking about how you interpreted the same thing that I read? I hadn't heard about it until today.

I read someplace, on ENworld or the Wizards site that all copies of that issue will come with a 3.5 screen.

That issue, I believe, is going to be $1 more than usual at the newsstands, which is why they're suggesting that you subscribe.

They just want to save us money? Wow, that's nice of them! :)

I'm already subscribed, but I'm not sure when mine expires, anyone know how to tell, besides the repeated notices I'llget towards teh end?

I take this news with guarded optimism, especially when I owned a 3e Dungeon Master's Screen that fails to support itself upright, much less protect me from my dice-pelting players.

I can't, (and don't want to) defend the flimsiness of the 3e DM's screen. However what I do is paperclip the DM screen to one of my old sturdier DM's screens, so that I still have access to 3e charts & stuff but the screen is sturdier, and more importantly to me, better artwork shows on the player's side. I usually use the Birthright screen as the outer shield - Tony Scudzulo's 3 panel scene of warfare is really cool. I really don't like the art on the 3e screen.

Does anyone know if the 3e Forgotten Realms screen is any sturdier than the core one?
