My one experience with it was not good. That said, I loved Stormbringer back in the day.

DLoM is likley my least favorite d20 Purchase.

Ditto to Teflon Billy's statements

Loved the original hardbacked stormbringer.. wasn't overly impressed with DLoM my group tolerated it for one session before we all agreed it was not a good sourcebook or credit to previous attempts or the Young Kingdoms.

Pity really we had high hopes at the time

I agree that as is, the book is near worthless. I never used it, it looked it was quickly done; D&D classes and magic system IMO do not fit at all with Elric world. However, in conjunction with Grim Tales, and throwing inside some Conan-like flavor, I hope to turn that into an interesting campaign. I only hope I won't have bad surprises when using the demon summoning rules (anyway, with demons it's almost granted to have bad surprises... ;) )

Chaosium largely regarded it's d20 lines as big ads for the BRP stuff. A bit of a pity, given the subject matter.

For a game set in Elric's world, I'd definitely give a look towards the magic system in Conan d20. It's largely demon centered for the more powerful effects, and the other stuff isn't too far out for the Young Kingdoms or Million Spheres.

Well, the Conan d20 game is probably good, but I have bought more than enough stuff in the past months, and do not intend to buy more. In fact i intend to play a Grim Tales game.

Using it as an idea book for setting flavor should work fine, it is only the poorly done d20 conversion that most people have a problem with. Elric and Stormbringer are pretty highly praised and dragon lords is pretty much Elric straight with a few poorly done conversions for mechanics. If you are not using the dragonlord mechanics you should be fine using it as a setting.

I have the old Stormbringer game; I think it'd work well with Grim Tales & some guidance from Ron Edwards' "Sorcerer & Sword", really a must-see for the demonic-sword genre. :)
