Dragon Mag Question.

I'm hoping someone can answer this for me:

So, I submitted an article query to Dragon about a month ago, and haven't heard back yet. Is this par for the course, or should I start thinking something went wrong?

I'm assuming they get back to you with both "Yes" and "No" answers.

Yeah, you'll get your acceptance/rejection letter eventually. It just takes a bit. Expect to wait a few more weeks.

PS this is why, in the magazine biz, you have to think about 6 months ahead for writing articles that are tied to a time of year (e.g. April Fools)

I had submitted some stuff about two years ago, and got fairly prompt responses to my queries. I wasn't sure if things had changed since then, what with the new owners and all.

Dragon Response Time

It normally takes about 4 to 6 weeks to get a reply. Because we've had a staff member out of the office for extended medical leave, we're way, way behind even that slow mark right now. To those affected by the delay, all I can say is please continue to be patient--we'll get responses out as soon as we can.

Wonder of wonders, I just heard back and my article proposal was accepted. Now all I have to do is go over it, have someone edit it real quick and send the puppy off.

I had a couple of article proposals accepted too... that was about, ooh, a year ago... I really should get around to sending in those articles
