Dragon magazine help. Old article info - underdark environs?

I recall an article from several years ago that detailed different types of weird locations in the underdark. I know one of them was . . . a forest infested with termites was buried, and the termites created some sort of weird goo in the trees, and then pockets of gas bubbled up through the goo and created little puffballs full of explosive fumes.

Does anyone know which issue this article was in, and what other locations were detailed?

I was reading it just yesterday. It's a good piece.

#303 (the gladiators issue).

The Undergroves by Tim Hitchcock.

* Barnacle Fields: Caverns infested by giant 'living pit trap' critters.
* Blackwater Grove: Wet, mineral-rich caverns, made dangerous by the silty floors, sinkholes and leeches.
* Bone Gardens: Caverns under graveyards, infested by a necrobiotic slime and various unique fungi, some beneficial, some dangerous.
* Flashfire Groves: These are the ones you recalled.
* Lichen Gardens: A sort of blob of fungi that hangs in the midle of a cave, supporting itself on creepers. Can provide nutritious goo sacs.
* Salt Hives: Natural mazes of salt walls, again with the weird fungi and vermin.
* Screaming Caves: Geothermal air is forced through cracks, creating hot, noisy, humid caves. Dangers include geysers and cracks that have been 'tuned' ith dwarven stonecraft to create sonic traps.
