Dragon magazine - international subscribers?

I've been thinking about subscribing to Dragon but I'm wondering how long issues are likely to take to get to me (I get them now 2-3 weeks after they're available in the US) down here in Australia; and also how long would the first issue take (so I dont get caught with 2 copies of a certain issue).

Any Australian subscribers out there?

Wow, you actually have a newsagent who gets Dragon mag? I've only known one newsagent that had it, and that was in Canberra. Unfortunately, your best bet is probably to hit the game shops if you want Dragon (and Dungeon).

Dragon, Dungeon, White Dwarf, Scrye, Inquest.... all of them come in on time except Dragon and Dungeon. The reason they get them is by request; we have a pretty good gaming community here, but no game store within 200km.

So does mine. I get Dragon from my local comic store though, thats why I get it so quickly.

Dragon, Dungeon White Dwarf and the others have been available from newsagents here in Brisbane for at least the past 6 years. However the Dragon and Dungeon are always 3 months behind RPG stores.

To the original poster, you can get a Dragon or Dungeon subscription through Milsims. They recently had a special on both subscriptions as well. Plus remember, if you subscribe you get the Annual for free, meaning you dont have to fork out an extra 12 to 16 dollars.
Then get them when they get them, and ship them off ASAP. I havent got a subscription with them yet as I need to get the cash together before I do.

I get mine from my newsagent (who in turn seems to get it from www.magazinecafe.co.uk at least thats the name on the price tag)

Its only about a month behind the US release, and until getting it from a games shop mine still cost £3.50 not the £5 the local game shop has started charging from issue 299.

Picked up 300 yesterday.

I have a subscription in Germany. When I subscribed, I asked what issue my subscription would start with (I think it is two months after you subscribe, but not certain) and since then Dragon and Dungeon have been arriving within a few days of the U.S. subscribers getting theirs. No problems so far and it has been close to a year.

Well, I got a response from the international subscription team:

"It will take six to eight weeks to receive the first issue. Every issue after that one will arrive the same time as U.S"

Must say I'm very impressed that this is the case...

i was a dungeon subscriber in NZ for a year...

and it came earlier than the FLGS got it, but still 2-3 weeks after the US subscribers...

but if you do get a sub, make sure you post your experiences! I'v been thinking about it.
