Dragon magazine: is it OGL?

Subject says it all, I think we talked about this before hand but my search turned up nothing, way to many dragon references, like that's a shock, and OGL is to short to search by.

So is Dragon magazine open game content?

No content in Dragon, Dungeon, Polyhedron or Star Wars Insider is OGL. All of it is produced under a special license between WotC and Paizio that is seperate from the d20 license.

Aside from the occasional Open Content article, that is (for which they'll specifically identify and include a copy of the appropriate license).

I wasn't aware that they had done any. In any event it is best to err on the side of caution.

The first OGL article, iirc, was "Prestige Races" published in issue #304.

If memory serves, they reprinted a couple of monsters in the d20/Annual 6 issue as well -- I think that was actually the first.

OGC is supposed to be clearly identifiable as such, according to the license. Of course, "clearly identifiable" is open to interpretation. The short form is, if you have to ask, it probably isn't open.
