Dragon Magazine price rise in the UK

It turns out Bagpuss was right. The price of Dragon has gone up from £3.50 to £4.99 in the UK. The guy who owns my FLGS says it's because Paizo don't accept payments in pounds Sterling.

Anther question (if there's anyone from Paizo on the boards): Can you subscribe to Dragon from outside the US?

Not excepting payment in Sterling would not explain a a 40 % increase in the price, I don't know of any where that charges 40% commision on exchanging currency.

Oh and if the price has gone up I was wrong, as so far my issues have not increased in price.

Eh? I was sure you'd started a thread about it... Must have been someone else. Interesting that your price hasn't gone up. What's the most recent issue you've bought?

#299 for £3.50 I don't expect to be able to pick up Dragon #300 for at least another couple of weeks.

I don't pick my copy up from my local game shop (as my local game shop is on the other side of the Mersey and would cost me £2.40 in tunnel tolls to visit). I get mine from a local newsagents.

Hmm, I picked up #300 this morning, so maybe they're charging me for express delivery :)

I'll have to look into it, see if I can find it somewhere else for less.

I've just phoned my (not so) local games shop and they have confirmed that the price they are selling Dragon went up to £4.99 from issue #299. But they already have issue #300 in stock.

Perhaps its just one supplier that has increased his price, maybe because of the faster shipping.

Perhaps games shops are getting their Dragon Magazines through a different importer (a RPG specialist) than my local newsagents (who would more likely deal with a specialist magazine importer), and one has increased the shipping price the other hasn't.

Anyway I'll let people know when I get #300.
