Dragon Magic errata?

Whizbang Dustyboots

Gnometown Hero
I don't see any on the official site -- has there been any official statements on the oopsies in Dragon Magic yet? There aren't many, but there have been a few significant ones, like a dragonfire adept dark invocation that apparently does absolutely nothing. :uhoh:

What dark invocation is that, Whizbang? I don't think I've seen it.

Instill Vulnerability "imbues a single creature within 30 feet with vulnerability to a particular type of energy," although the effect is never spelled out. And further, "creatures that have immunity to the chosen energy type automatically succeed on the saving throw to resist this effect."

So the unspecified effect doesn't work on the targets you'd want to use it on.

I'm pretty sure that either there's a sentence or two missing or the whole thing got mixed up during the process of revision.

I think they are using the game term vulnerability, which states:

SRD (Types said:
Vulnerability to Energy: Some creatures have vulnerability to a certain kind of energy effect (typically either cold or fire). Such a creature takes half again as much (+50%) damage as normal from the effect, regardless of whether a saving throw is allowed, or if the save is a success or failure.
So, you can't make a white dragon vulnerable to cold, but you can make it vulnerable to acid.
