So I guess the real answer is that invocation just generally sucks. :\

If you co-ordinate with your party blaster, it can get really nasty. It's like a free Empower to all his energy spells that stacks with Maximize (and, come to think of it, another Empower). With the right energy type, it ups the damage from your dragon breath by 50%. Give your rogue a weaponlike energy spell and his sneak attack damage goes up 50% as well.

Not explicitly stated in the rules, but I'd rule that vulnerability doesn't stack that way.

This fall. It's got dragon-themed supplemental stuff for nearly every sort of magic-user (or psionics-user) that WotC has detailed to date, so it works as a dragon-themed expansion to XPH, Incarnum, Complete Arcane, Tome of Magic and more. It's a pretty impressive package.

My players are starting to get actively involved in stopping the local kobold tribe's attempt to wipe out their isolated barony, so it's really a grab-bag of stuff for my campaign. Very strong book overall.
