normally just convert the module as-is even though it's not balanced. In the end if you want to make it balanced write a note at the bottom stating what would need to be added or removed to make it more balanced as far as EL and CR's go as well as equipping magic items to major NPC's.

overall it's not that hard to convert them if you got the right tools. in th end it's just the notes on balancing which take time.

for tools i use a few things:

1. SRD-good reference material
2. Creature catalog-lookup all the odd critters out there
3. PCGen-Makes it easier to build and equip NPC's and get a statblock out of them.
4. Jamis Bucks' NPCGen-Makes life easier to randomly generate NPC's
5. TreasureGen-java app that doles out treasure to NPC's based on level and such.
6. MS Word-gotta have something to write on ;)
7. Encounter calculator-helps tell me what encounter level it is for a room.

That's about all i use

Thanks for posting the list, Leopold. A very handy gathering indeed.

I just uploaded a conversion of Cleric's Challenge II to Enworld. (I'm sure it will be reviewed before being posted). Being my first conversion, I was just a tad 'uncertain feeling' since I really didn't want to mess it up. I believe I covered all the bases though, the template makes it pretty easy.

Once I'm sure I know what I'm doing, I'm sure I'll convert some more stuff. Anyway, thanks again.
