Deadly Denizens Vol. III July Art Preview #5: Continuing our summer aquatic theme for July, and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Jaws, we dive into the terrifying depths with the Lusca, a monstrous fusion of shark and octopus rooted in Caribbean folklore. Originally whispered of in island tales as a predator dwelling in deep blue holes, the Lusca was said to drag unsuspecting swimmers into the dark with powerful tentacles before devouring them.
In Deadly Denizens III, the Lusca has evolved into something far worse: a kraken's agent of destruction. Gifted with unnatural size and cruel cunning, this abyssal horror now stalks coastlines and ship routes as an extension of its master's will, devouring sailors, wrecking vessels, and turning the sea red with fear.
