What's with the small bang covering one of Tanis's eyes ... or is that Roy Fokker? I thought the animation will be less anime-influenced. Or did some artists have a thing for boy band?

20 years and counting. It happened to LOTR once (started with a 70's Rankin-Bass cartoon, became live-action in 2000), it can happen for Dragonlance. 20 years and counting.

I hope it gets better. I guess I'll echo that those are fine for early concept stuff -- they're definitely a nod in the right direction. There's something, though, that I don't like with the style.

Cause he has a bang over his eye and a lot of anime characters have bangs over their eyes.

Because to a lot of people "anime" doesn't actually have anything to do with Japanese animation, its just a term that means "I don't like it."
