Dragonlance Campaign Setting Art Gallery

While I'm buying the product for the contents instead of the art, I have to say that I agree with most of what's been said here. The flagship product for the re-launch of Dragonlance has some pretty poor art. Some of it is good, but I'm not very happy with most of it.

I've seen art for the beastary that Udon Studies is doing and I really like it. None of the pictures I've seen were in that preview though.

I'd say its about the worst I've seen from WotC. I think Forgotten Realms is generally a cut above the rest, but RoF and UE were both not as good as previous books. Overall the art at WotC seems to have deteriorated.

Udon is working on the Bestiary?

SWEET!!! :D

Udon is going to be doing a lot more art for the RPG industry. I know Wizards asked them for some stuff, Paizo, White wolf (of course they already did a lot of the Exhalted stuff) and many other compaines.

I don't know how much of the Beastiary they have, but what I saw was really cool.

I was hoping Jeff Easley would do the Dragons. Oh well, some are good, and some are bad.

I don't really go nuts over Lockwood's dragons so I'm not torn up over the dragons looking different. Lockwood is good, but IMO the dragon master is Jeff Easley.

Where is Larry Elmore?

But, at least in my opinion, the problem isn't that they look different from Lockwood's dragons. It is that they look ugly. They have none of the majesty (sp?), grandeur, danger a dragon should have. The black dragon is a good example of what I would want. The brass dragon on the other hand better has to be a joke. It might be a half-brass minotaur, but not a true dragon.

But again, that's just my opinion.

I'll certainly not update my avatar to that hunched lizard with tacked-on wings that was painted red.
Of course not, not when you can choose a half-decomposed Silver that's begging for mercy in front of a fire hydrant.
