The Ogres, after the Summer of Chaos, began looking for a way to return to their former beauty and glory. An ogre sorcerer discovered a ritual that allowed them to do that, creating the Ogre Titans.

I am particularly fond of Fireshadows...very scary undead creatures.

"Much has already been said about the origins of the unusual races of Krynn. Many creatures that are common to other worlds are also found in Ansalon. These creatures are best described in other books."

Leaves it wide open for the DM to just bring in monsters.

Yep, and we at least know the Tarrasque is on Krynn - Soth keeps it in his closet in his throne room! (DL16 - World of Krynn, p82-83).

Ye Gods!! I remember that! I also remember thinking "...whut?" at the time when I was reading the module and prepping it.

Storm King's Thunder probably wouldn't fit as I don't remember there being giants on Krynn; though you might be able to tweak the Irda to work in their place..
