Dragonlance & DnD the Movie (I know, I know...)

I get pysicaly sick when i try to watch the DnD movie, Compare it to the Lord of the Rings movies.............

I actually liked the movie, it was a great horrible action movie like Highlander, Legend or The Prophecy. I can think of worse ways to spend an afternoon than a couple of friends, some popcorn, the movie, and a constant dialogue that would rival MST3K.

Movie? I don't know what you're talking about! There hasn't EVER been anything claiming to be a D&D movie!!

I wasn't around ENWorld for when the movie came out, so I've had this bottled up in me a long, long time. I saw the movie at the 11:00 pm showing, hoping there wouldn't be little kids there. When I ended up seeing it, I laughed and made fun of it aloud through the entire thing. It was rude of me, but I couldn't help myself. The movie was rediculous. I mean seriously, what was up with the guy in blue lipstick with the wierd alien in his ear? I mean really, it was stupid.

I saw it with a couple buddies of mine who were interested in playing D&D.

After that movie, they didn't want to play D&D.

Personally, I think that "setting" would be great to run "The Apocalypse Stone" module in.

That's like asking if the D&D Movie took place in Metropolis because it featured Jimmy Olsen and a dude with a cape.

If there was actually a character in the movie named Jimmy Olsen and a man in red suspenders flying around, then I would agree with you.

It's a joke... the guy who plays the main character played Jimmy Olsen on one of the Superman television shows.

YES!! I cannot agree with you more!!

I own this movie, and it's just great to throw in and watch every now and then and kind of chuckle with a few friends MST style!

Please don't try to compare these two movies.

I want to say it is like comparing apples and oranges, but that’s still too close of a relationship. It’s more like trying to compare apples and cubicle walls (in case you can't tell I'm at work right now).
