Dragonlance War of the Lance Discussion, Questions, and Comments

Mr. Banks ( or is it Ms.? )

You should be very proud, it is an outstanding product.

It's Mr. Banks, yes. The picture of Tanis on the left there is what I would look like if I let myself go. Thanks for the comments!

What other parts of the book did you work on?

I mainly contributed towards the character chapter (I developed the master for the book, as well as some of the prestige classes) and the chapter on the War of the Lance itself. Outside of that, little bits here and there.

Cheers,
Cam

Does the book contain any more detailed breakdown of the composition of the armies (Whitestone and the Dragonarmies), as in troop counts, types, etc? I've wanted such info because I've thought it would be fun to run a "Dragonlance Wars" campaign using the battle rules from Cry Havoc! and the political rules from Stronghold and Dynasties to recreate the war of the lance with the players taking leadership roles... but I haven't had the resources to do it (and Dragons of War, unfortunately, was less than helpful for trying to make such a game in 3e)...

Tyler, that's exactly what this book does.

This book is the single greatest Dragonlance resource ever published, if for no other reason than the eberron inspired geography section, which finally allows the rest of ansalon to shine as brightly as Solace, Palanthas, and Sanction.

I completely agree with Orgrok. This book *is* all you need.

If I implied otherwise, I apologize.

No problem :) I'm GOING to get the book. It's just been a matter of cash storage. I went to a game store in Michigan last weekend and they've had problems ordering it. They had Towers of High Sorcery in but not the WoL book.

Well I loved the Master core class. It will see use in my campaigns both DL and beyond.

So, does anybody know the name of the fortress on page 200?

I thought maybe the lost citadel from reading about DL history. Would Dragons circle there?

I read chronicles about 17 years ago, quickly followed by Legends. This year I finally chose to "move forward" to the present. I am currently in Summer Flame, so I am not up to date with the books yet. Maybe this is an obvious question, to a more seasoned dragonlancer.

Thanks all for the responses!

Dammit, if I wasn't already running a rather enjoyable Excalibur campaign (that I don't want to disrupt), I'd go order this right this minute. This is exactly what I've wanted for years in the way of a dragonlance sourcebook, thanks!

what is the cover price on the book? I am really interested in a War of the Lance book but gaming prices are making it hard for to pick up...

That's a flying citadel, one of the fortresses Ariakas had ripped from its foundations with the help of Black Robed wizards and clerics, and used as mobile command and attack HQ. You can read more about them on page 180.
