dragonnip

First Post
as the wife and i were chuckling about the cats acting stupid over some catnip (woohoo! married life and friday night!!) i wondered about dragonnip.

a rare, hard to find herb that drives dragons to drunken distraction with the merest hints. brewed in a tea and fed to one it is said to induce madness.

the seed is difficult to aquire (theres a million set-ups) and slow to grow.

then i thought, have i heard of dragonnip before? am i unconciously regurgitating this from some long past game article? does anyone remmeber this?

I understand that you can also get them to buffet and bat at their lair walls with nothing more than a vigorously shaken bullseye lantern... :D

Could you be thinking of my story hour? In it, "flowstone" is a magically malleable type of stone that is like heroin to dragons. It seems to enhance their sorcerous abilities, or at least their appreciation of their treasure. Dragons will do anything to get it. :D

The Occult Lore preview from this summer had dragon-nip, except it is called Wyrm Snare in there.

Here's the link:

or you can grab a copy from my server:

Here's a quote:
"In the Middle Kingdom, where it was first cooked up, it is called long he, which translates loosely as 'dragon-nip.' There is a story that once, long ago, the rival of the evil emperor Liu Xiao poured wyrm snare on the roof of the imperial residence in an act of vengeance and as a way to rid the country of a despotic tyrant. Unfortunately, the nine dragons that came not only killed the wicked sovereign, but also wiped out the entire city and most of the population in the surrounding countryside. As such, in most civilized kingdoms, wyrm snare tends to be even more illegal than dragon tears."

I've found a single roc's feather attached to a long string the best way to lure a dragon out of its lair. somethingabout the bouncy-flouncy it just cant resist.
