Stop me if you've heard this one (preferably with the answer).
As i recall the 3.0 MM gave Spellcraft free to spell casting dragons at 1/HD.
However the 3.5 MM does not. Nor is it listed in the draconic class skills (except for Blue). Though all but the Black (and White and Brass who were too young to cast spells) sample dragons have it at (1/HD)+(INT-mod)+(Synergy). Assuming spellcraft for free and all skills as class they were still about a HD worth of points over what their HD would indicate. I broke down the copper, red and gold sample dragons to arrive at these conclusions.
The draconomicons' sample dragons do not reflect the same figures. at a glance they also seem to count all skills as class. As the Book of Dragons goes into absolutly no detail about skill points (why reiterate the MM?) I'm not shure how the sample dragons were created.
Has anyone untangled this or am I the only one banging his head over it?
