Dragons of Editions Past: Anyone ever use them?

From 2E's Monstrous Compendium Annual vol. 2 (I'm not sure if this is the same as the Sea dragon in the new Dragonlance Campaign Setting or the Aquatic dragon in the new Bestiary of Krynn).

The brine dragon was originally from the 2e product Otherlands, and is a big sea dragon with an enormous grin on its face. We didn't convert it to 3.5, and neither the sea dragon in the Age of Mortals sourcebook or the aquatic dragon in the Bestiary of Krynn is a converted brine dragon. As it's a somewhat rare and obscure mutation of a sea dragon, for the most part, I feel that folks can use sea dragon stats for it and save us from doing the work of converting it over.

Cheers,
Cam

That's too bad, mutations always make great monsters (wasn't that the design strategy for the aforementioned Frost dragons). ;)

Btw, can you tell me what the Amphi dragon is? It sounds like an amphibious dragon, but I could be wrong.

Nope, you're exactly right. It looks something like a cross between a huge toad and a dragon. They're the result of sea dragons and green or black dragons interbreeding. They have age categories, so they're true dragons much like their parents. They breed true, also, so the amphi dragon is one of Krynn's established dragon types.

I used one in the Key of Destiny campaign I'm running at the moment. Terrifying. A dragon that has acid oozing from its pores, can swallow creatures whole, and is generally very disagreeable...

Cheers,
Cam

Not positive if this is the right one... in 2E didn't the Mercury Dragon's breath weapon cause death on a failed saving throw? I remember some dragon I put in a campaign wiping out the entire party with one breath once when everyone rolled poorly...
