March 2011. 2011? 8 months from now? They've got dynamite footage enough to make a trailer like that, but it won't be released until 2011. I gotta say that much as I love that trailer this business of starting the hype as much as a year in advance of release is getting stupid.

The sad part is that this movie could indeed suck as it stands and the next 6 months could very well be expended only making it suck harder with more glitz for the meltdown. I have had my faith and patience with the movie business used up.

Sorry to be so negative. I really do like that trailer... Talk to me again in February. Maybe I'll be in a better mood.

Snyder says it's Alice in Wonderland with machine guns. Girl gets sent to mental institution where they are going to lobotomize her, and she escapes into her fantasies.

Yeah. Didn't we already have that? You know, Return to Oz. Anyway, the trailer looks good. Hoping for the best.

This movie obviously needs a lot of post-production work. The odds are that they pushed the scenes chosen for the trailer to be completed first so they could get a trailer out there, while most of the movie is still waiting to get its finish work. While they could just wait to put a trailer out, these days with all the clutter and noise on the web and "traditional" media, you need time to get attention in any significant amount. Put the first trailer out in February for a March film, and by opening weekend you'll find very few people have heard of it.

IGN has a trailer analysis, which is easier to, uhh, analyze:

So that I don't get my hopes up too much I'm just gonna ignore any new trailers or teasers or featurettes or screenshots or interviews. That way, I'm excited but not jaded.
