So basically this film looks like Sin City, except with every other cool thing Sin City was missing. I am so seeing this opening weekend. Though I foresee some mockery over that coming from my wife...

March 2011. 2011? 8 months from now? They've got dynamite footage enough to make a trailer like that, but it won't be released until 2011. I gotta say that much as I love that trailer this business of starting the hype as much as a year in advance of release is getting stupid.

The sad part is that this movie could indeed suck as it stands and the next 6 months could very well be expended only making it suck harder with more glitz for the meltdown. I have had my faith and patience with the movie business used up.

Sorry to be so negative. I really do like that trailer... Talk to me again in February. Maybe I'll be in a better mood.

Meh, thats better than most practices in the videogame industry. Starcraft 2 had trailers released 2-3 years before it came out. Of course, a lot of the stuff in those early gameplay trailers didn't make it into the final version. The movie industry is a lot more disciplined in comparison.

I suspect that it's just more expensive to change things in movies (and easier to create trailers). Though moving to digital video cameras is working against that first point.
