I own the first two books and love them. I use the setting for my normal AD&D game. The system is weird in that for the reign of Quesmet it was in that sector now it is moving towards Asmet (chromatic) territory. Currently the world and most of the system that my campaign takes place is a protected Outlands preserve and the Empire only allows druids to go there undercover on planetary ecology missions.
I do agree that firearms and energy weapons are REALLY dangerous in Dragonstar but they should. Then again I am an ol' skool Cyberpunk 2013 and 2020 player. I am a firm beliver that level 1 through 20 you should always be at the very least somewhat worried when some idiot is waving a gun in your face....even if you can take 3 or 4 actions before the synapes in his brain tells him to pull the trigger.
