With 17 pages of new material, The Mind Unveiled: Mind Blade Feats details over 40 new feats, granting the ability to create a blade of energy using only the power of the mind. Beyond the host of new feats, mind blade specialty levels are given for the paladin, ranger, and rogue, to allow them to tap into the power of the mind, and even a variant soulknife class is given to utilize these new rules with the existing class. So as I'm looking at this, and I like it quite a bit.

In your opinion, does this set of feats invalidate the soul knife?

If I have a fighter with a psionic race, if I can find a way to take Concentration as a class skill I am going to be able to make a significantly better soul knife than the soul knife.

Invalidate it? No. Partly because this set of feats doesn't freely progress the mind blade.

To keep up with the standard soulknife, you'd need to take a minimum of 9 Mind Blade feats by level 20 - for the same +5 mind blade with +4 special abilities. 5 of those would have to be Resonant Blade for Psychic Strike +5d8, 1 for Form Mind Blade, 1 for Throw Mind Blade, 1 for Shape Mind Blade, 1 for Bladewind, 1 for Knife to the Soul, 1 for Soulblade Warrior to get Multiple Throw. So, just to stay the same as the base soulknife, you have to take 11 feats. Or every single fighter bonus feat. And the soulknife also gets Speed of Thought and increased class skills and skill points, but admittedly has a lower BAB. So it's a trade-off.

That was the whole point when Andreas started this design a long time ago - to make it about the same as the class, so that either was still a viable option, but to also make it an option to other classes.
