Ye gods I hated those pictures in the middle section, He looked like somebodies middle aged dad!. Larry Elmores ofiginal was the best of the bunch IMO, and the latest Thousand Orcs pictures a close second.

Oh yeah and I hate Drizzt! (not really but it sems the popular conception around here ;) )

I've never felt they do drow right.

Either they're really dusky skinned, or purple/blue/brown.

Although I thought the Silent Blade one was a little too 'human' defined, I thought it was good, as well as the Thousand Orc one.

The old pictures are quite bad.. the artist forgot that 70 year old elves don't look like 70 year old humans! And what's with the friggin' sideburns?!!?

Ugh! Drizzt is terible in most of those!!!!
All of them but the last two! I have some covers they missed I think:
Legacy of the drow:Collector edition by "Brom" makes him look like a woman.
The icewind dale trillogy: Collectors edition By "Matthew starwicki" Portrays him excellently, he has the cloak furs over his sholders an orange/red undercoat, with gloves on. He is summoning Guenhwyvar, one hand above and one below the statuette, here/his astal form only half real-looking with stars and streams of blue linking them.

The scariest I've seen is the pic on the cover of a dragon mag a while back.

It was well done, but I spent the entire time wondering why an issue on elves had a cyberpunk on the front :)
