Well, that's a bit too harsh. After all, we can't hate everyone who plays a PHB ranger...

People still play PHB rangers?

I thought everyone had that house-ruled by now :D

The original Larry Elmore Drizzt is my favorite although the current Todd Lockwood version is definately second place. I'm not a fan of any of the Jeff Easley interpretations, or Robh Ruppel's version on Starless Night. I'm fairly neutral on the rest of them.

I think the best one ever is on the cover of the FRCS boxed set, where he is looking straight at you with his scimitars crossed:

I don't even hate people who like Drizzt, I hate people who want to be Drizzt.

Intersting (fan) version of Drizzt here.

Reinforces my belief that much of D&D is better suited to anime or Disney style rather than traditional fantasy art.

I like the Fred Fields and Elmore stuff. Both of these guys are just amazing artists. I am a fan of Easley but his representations of Drizzt were always way off in my own opinion. Lockwood's is decent but I hate the sharp faces that he does for elves they look too alien and are not all that beautiful like Elves are supposed to be. I really like Brom's portrayal of Drizzt and other elves, mainly because it is exactly how I envisioned elves, very David Bowiesque in stature and demeanor.
