Drizzt The Drow

There's been a good aligned drow diety for over 13 years. Elaine Cunningham tied up the histry of the dark elven pantheon with the elven pantheon very well in Evermeet. and makes it make more sense rather than *poof* here's a new god. Eliestraee isn't a very significant god anyways, her worshippers should be just as rare as finding any other Drizzt's out there.

I've read that book, but I'm in no mood to forgive. Maybe when she fails to win converts when her priestesses see Lolth's priestesses, I'll be in a more forgiving mood. But right now, it seems like she could take over Menzo just by sending three priestesses and a giant illusion of herself over Narbondel.

That said I try not to voice my Drizzt complaints too much, and I really don't hate him that much, I am just done with that series. I would rather see more Elaine Cunningham than another Drizzt novel.

But since Cunningham doesn't write Drizzt, any future Drizzt books should concern you little :\

:D I don't think Eliestraee even has the power or ambition to take over Menzo let alone effecting the Lloth clergy worldwide. She's kind of a wussy god from what I read. Yeah she likes hunting beasties from time to time but is more interested in dancing and singing La la la la la la. Correlon isn't even that Wussy.

I'm sure if Eliestraee tried anything significant against the drow, Lloth is just gonna give her a *smack* and say, "Who's your mommy? B*tch!"

No, I disagree with that. It doesn't matter if she can't do anything on her own. Her clerics can just use their uber-charm ability to convert all those clerics of Lolth into clerics of Eilistraee.

Ugh...why can't a single rpg forum exist for a day without some Drizzt-gasms going on?

10 years ago, he was cool.

5 years ago, he was played out.

Last year, he was annoying.

Now, he inspires rage on a plane equal to a lvl 20 Orcish Eye of Grumsh/Frenzied Berserker with a bad case of hemmorhoids and a lack of Ritalin.

Please, let all the good drow die...let them die...let them die...

The problem with this theory, and with Rastilin and other Dragonlance classic bits, is it assumes everyone has the same background you bring to it. For example, I'm with you. Some of the Lone Drow trilogy was okay, but most was well, internally inconsistent and poorly written.

For others who've just discovered Drizzt though, it must be like a whole new world. More power to their enjoyment and hopefully it leads them to over lines of fiction that are not game based so that they can see a wider array of characters.

One of my first characters way back then was a chaotic good dark elf cavalier named Thalaric. Those were the days...
When I used to sit around and roll up dozens upon dozens of characters that would never be played, one of those characters was a drow named Elric. Yes, he was a prince of his city. Yes, his city was called Melnibone. And yes, he was albino. God, I was a dorky kid...

If I remember correctly, Drizzt's birth was used as a spell component. That and the fact that his dad (his REAL dad) never fit in probably had a lot to do with it.

Guess that makes him a mutant. So... when does he appear in an X-men crossover? They've been on the Enterprise already. :p
Drizzt was the third son in his mother's (a matron mother) family, so he was to be sacrificed as, yes, a spell component for a spell to force the opposing house's matron mother and priestesses to be unable to fight back. However, the secondboy of Drizzt's house, Dinin, slew his older brother (whatever his name was) in the height of the battle, which thus made Drizzt the secondboy. And thus was our infamous CG drow fighter/ranger/whatever else he has saved from sacrifice to Lolth.
