Drop-down menu problem

The EN World kitten
For about a day (that I've noticed), the little arrows next to each of the links at the top of EN World (e.g. "Site Menu" "My Account" etc.) haven't been there, and neither have the drop-down menus that they're supposed to bring up. Clicking on the links themselves doesn't seem to do anything but reload the page. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm not at all sure what's going on.

Which browser are you using? I don't know about Firefox, but the drop downs work as they should in Netscape and Mozilla, but not in Internet Explorer and iCab.

Ironically enough, I am using Firefox. However, this problem didn't happen until a day or two ago. I know they did work fine with Firefox before. The fact that they also don't work in IN and iCab makes me wonder if the EN World server has some sort of configuration problem.

And Firefox is basically an advanced version of Mozilla and Netscape. Strange.

iCab's troubles can be laid to the fact iCab's writer has yet to incorporate CSS. Any page that uses CSS will not render properly in iCab. IE's problems have a lot to do with the fact IE is not exactly standards compliant. It handles Movable Type 3.2 better than the Gecko rendering engine, but in other areas it has trouble.

Now, my version of IE (5.1 for Mac) has trouble with ENWorld's drop down menus. Your version may not. Have you tried IE with ENWorld?

Hm, I just tried whatever version browser AOL has, and that loaded the little arrows just fine.

Oddly, with Firefox, I can't make the smileys appear when I click on them either. Manual typing still works though.

They work fine for me in FireFox. By chance have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Annoyingly enough, that seems to have done the trick. Oh well, thanks Iron Wolf!
