Heh...no, your implied argument is missing an important detail - more clerics = more buffs. But you do have a point, methinks.

I'm not implying a system-wide replacement of fighter classes, that would just be silly. I'm just wondering how well a party that replaced their fighters wholesale with clerics would fare. I think some of the points raised here point to "sub-optimally" being the answer, but it was a thought.If I want to do Any sort've combat damage in melee, I have to play a cleric. Or be a rogue and get killed. That sounds pigeonholing, to me.

To do it right, would probably need a control group too.Try it and report back.
