Drow Tiefling Paladin

If someone ever asked me if they could run this concept, I'd say, "sure!"

They'd be human with commoner levels, and have some psychosis that makes them think they're a tiefling drow paladin. That Holy Avenger dagger? It's a chopstick.

"You see a beggar with a chopstick tackling old ladies! What do you do?"

Isn't a Fey'ri kinda like a Tiefling Elf?

Nope. They're exactly that: tiefling sun elves.

To the original poster: NO! NO! VIOLENT NO!

I expect a shapely female dark elf tiefling to come here to "tackle and smite" me. Wink wink nudge nudge.

Seriously, the concept could work. Most obviously in a non-too-serious short campaign or one shot, but toned down it could work as an actual character.

This post has opened my eyes to the fact that we need tackle rules in D&D.

Oh yeah, since she flips out, you need to make her a paladin/ninja!

Half-ninja. She only flips out. If she also killed people, she'd be a ninja. Plus, totally uppercutting a kid is so out of line to the paladin's code of conduct.

A Paladin with a sneak attack... but feels really bad about using it... Uhm, Hello? Is this thing on?

That isn't a Lawful Good Paladin that I've ever seen. Lose the Steed, stab people in the back (probably after tackling them). Lets not forget tackling nearly everyone they come across... heh

Maybe it's not so much a "sneak attack" as it's a deadly strike designed to destroy evil as quickly and eficiently as possible. Less chance for evil to escape justice and continue being evil. :)

At least the Pally will be detecting evil on themselves constantly. Course, it will never work, as they blew their Code with the first tackle. Hence, they will never detect evil on themselves ;)

Edit: I just noticed the dagger used to deface herself is a Holy Avenger... but not too be used other then self mutilation.

The pain! The pain!

hrmm... maybe it depends on in the campaign where the source of a paladin's power comes from. Maybe said paladin is just misguided, and feels she is working for the greater good, despite the... odd... methods...

Or like you said, the paladin keeps using detect evil, but doesn't realize it has stopped working long ago... Thats an interesting concept.
