Druid Weapons

I'm sure this has probably been answered previously, however:

Druids cannot use bows of any type as standard. Bows are generally natural weapons (compared to for example a scimitar they definately are).

The notes in the Weapon/Armour section mention penalties to the druid for wearing armour or shields that are not natural.

There is no mention of using weapons not on the list.

Does this mean a druid could conceivably take martial proficiency (Longbow) say and use it without a problem?

I allow all Druids to use any weapon or armour (not heavy) that is made from natural materials. The only weapon exception is Exotic weapons. It hasn't posed a problem yet. And at the level the group is now (9th) the Druid mostly fights in a Wildshape.
