Druid Wild Shape forms

So, I am playing a Druid for the first time (in a long while) and I am looking for good wild shape forms. My character is going to be 10th level, w/2 monk levels.

Any ideas as far as creatures 10 HD or less that I could shape into?

Thanks,

The druid PC in my campaign loves wildshaping into dire animals. His favorites are the dire ape and dire wolf. He spends most of his time wildshaped.

Make sure you take the Natural Spell feat so you can cast while wildshaped.

Yeah, those are all good choices and it does seem like dire animals are the way to go. I forgot to mention that I'll have the Exalted Wild Shape feat that lets me add the Celestial subtype (template???) to whatever animal I am.

Dire Ape is my favorite choice so far as it has 10 foot reach.

Any other suggestions?

Saw a few dire apes in action once (not a druid wildshaped, but summoned by a druid, actually) and it was terrifying. Tore the arms off a fire giant, and beat it to death with them. OK, so they were the target of an animal growth, but still. King Kong was angry, and you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Besides, everybody loves monkeys! (Technically an ape, yes, I know)

WP,

Good point about the animal growth spell . . . what types of buffs would y'all recommend (5th Level Druid or Lower) to turn me into a Celestial Dire Ape killing machine?

I'm already familiar with what the PHB's got, so try to suggest buffs outside of this core product. :)

Thanks,

Dire lion is good for pounce attacks.

The druid in our group is 15th level and took master of many forms so I'm not as familiar with the lower shaping limits.
