Druidish wizard?

I want to create a druid-like wizard. I'll start with some of the options in Unearthed Arcana: swapping the familiar for an animal companion, and possibly using the Domain Wizard option to emphasize nature and/or elemental spells.

Where should I go after that?

Are there any prestige classes that would help me to maximize the nature-power (or nature-flavor)of my wizard?

I'd recommend looking at the oriental casting classes from CAr and CD. Arcane-ish casters with an elemental twist. Might be what you're looking for?

Otherwise, there's the Druid-Wizard PrC in Races of the Wild.

Yes, Daggerspell Mage could do the trick. But since it's a mystic theurge for wizard and druid, it's not necessary to sacrifice the arcane side of the wizard class, as you'll have to be multiclassed with druid anyway.

Hate to have to point this out, but Daggerspell Mage is a Rogue/Wizard PrC and the Daggerspell Shaper is a Rogue/Druid PrC. They are presented as part of the same organization and as classes that work together, but they don't combine Druid & Wizard into the same class. That would be the Geomancer from Complete Divine.

AEG's Wilds has two PRCs- Green Mage and Botanmancer. Goodman's Primeval Groves has the Xylomancer.

Some of the stuff they as class features- reduction of xp costs of potions and other plant based magical items, access to the divine plant and animal spells, gain plant companions, and turn into a plant.

Of course, Mystic Theurge is the mystic Theurge for druid/wizards... :)

Take a peek at the movie Excalibur. The Merlin and Morgana there are very druid-like.

Swap a familiar for an animal companion.

Use a staff and a dagger (do wizards still get sling?)

Dress in Brown robes with a green cloak rimmed with leaves.

Max ranks in Knowledge (nature) and take Spontaneous Summoner as soon as possible. Maybe ask your DM to swap Summon Monster for Summon Nature's Ally.

Races of the Wild has "Arcane Heirophant" as a PrC. You get full advancement simultaneiously in druid spellcasting, wizard/sorceror spellcasting, and druid wildshaping, plus you add your familiar benefits to your druidic animal companion. Hard not to love this prestige class.

The blackmoor setting (which I am writing a review for) has a base class called a wokan which is pretty much exactly a druidish wizard.

Green Ronin's Bow & Blade has a prestige class called the lifeweaver, which is a mystic theurgish class with slow spellcasting advancement, but abilities that create a stronger synergy between the two spellcasting classes. (IMO, Arcane Heirophant is overpowered, lifeweaver is just about right.)
