Dumb Game Ideas: Mash-Ups

Reynard

aka Ian Eller
What are two (or more) genres, IPs, setting or otherwise that you could, would, or even have mashed up together to create a campaign or adventure?

I really want to do a Delta Green style modern technothriller, except the squad (PCs) is making sorties into Oz.

Or, War of the Worlds but set in Ars Magica.

Or, a Star trek adventure that turns into Aliens (although the whole SNW Gorn arc did this already, so it wouldn't be as much of a fun surprise).

What fun mash ups have you done or would you like to do?

I love mash-ups!

Some unused ideas:
Paranoia!/Dark Sun
Paranoia!/Shadowrun
Paranoia!/Traveller
CoC/Traveler
CoC/Shadowrun

Some I’ve tried:
My Champions: 1900 campaign used Space: 1889’s setting as its core, also liberally borrowed from Marvel & DC comic books, Wild, Wild West, Michael Moorcock, William Gibson, Harry Turtledove, James Bond movies, anime, Kung Fu, and Alien Nation.

My GURPS V:tM playtest character was based on The Tick.

I had a 2Ed Drow MU/Th who was a Westworld-style entertainment android come to life and apported into a fantasy setting. She didn’t quite understand that she was no longer in a game.

I ran a small Fallout game in Detroit. The characters played vampires or rather mutants who had to consume haemoglobin because their own haemoglobin rapidly decayed. I used the 5e hunger rules but no clans.

They spend their days fighting over vacants, scavenging for supplies and hunting people with various different factions in Detroit eg: The Purifiers a group of body altering raiders who specifically hunt 'unclean' and 'The Infected' in exchange for settlements resources that they don't need and the Boltz, former Blood members who operate out of a RobCo flagstore and use robots to secure their turf. There were also waterparks filled with FEV.

Then there was the Infected which was the result of an Institute experiment gone wrong or right depending on your point of view. The Infected were started by one man, Albert who is a sociopath and meglomaniac. He was used by the institute as an experiment infected with a virus they made. The Infected for the most part are mindless killing machines (think rage virus, meets Crossed, meets bubonic plague). Albert for the most part remained relatively sane and started a cult based in a hotel to create a functioning society. There was also a group of infected fashioning themselves after Juggalos who just lived in a Faygo factory as isolationists.

The party eventually made a deal with Albert which I wasn't expecting. He'd help them acquire a nuke if they let him and his children cross the border to Canada. They agreed and decided to nuke the city.

Cool. I like it.
