Crypt of Crimson Stars
by Andy Collins and James Wyatt
Rumors of an Eberron dragonshard of enormous size and power have reached the ears of Tophran Damilek, one of Sharn’s wealthiest citizens. Unfortunately, the shard seems to be concealed within a trap-laden temple-tomb located below a village of cruel halfling nomads and their dinosaur pets. “Crypt of Crimson Stars” is the first installment of the three-part “Shards of Eberron” Campaign Arc, which debuted at Gen Con Indy 2004 as the official D&D Open tournament, sponsored by the RPGA. An Eberron adventure for 6th-level characters.

I'm tempted to get it just to see this take on a real EL adventure.Quicksilver Hourglass
by Anson Caralya
Hidden between the planes of existence and behind time itself, the Quicksilver Hourglass has kept its terrible prisoner obscured from reality. Yet now, the leader of a transplanar conspiracy of vampiric masterminds ahs invaded this ancient prison, intent on unleashing a wretched doom upon the multiverse. An epic D&D adventure for 30th-level characters.
Well, every DM eventually creates an Evil Tree (tm) adventure... it's like a rite of passage. Like floating islands and Dino Land - c'mon, you know you done it.What's with all the demon trees...?

Cheers!

No, no, no... Usually the Evil Tree is more of a magical site than a magical monster (though it could be that too). It's usually an Lower Planar portal, perhaps a sacrificial site or a artifact from which your BBEG draws his power. It can have symbolic ties to your campaign as well (a la Carnivale...).Obscure said:The concept of an evil tree just kind of bewilders me...come to think of it, I'm not a big fan of plant monsters in general -- from assassin vines to Treebeard the Ent. That said, I'll read Root of Evil and The Amarantha Agenda with an open mind. Who knows, maybe they'll convert me into a plant-lover![]()
