Dungeon #130

Also, it's worth noting that there's no full-page reproduction of the cover image without the blurbs in the issue.

Which in a way is good. I remember there was a time when they reprinted the cover twice in the magazine, once on the inside without blurbs then again in front of the adventure it was supposed to serve.

I don't like the cover either. The balance of it seems off. Which I hope doesn't effect newstand sales or they'll say, "See, if we don't put a hot babe on the cover, it doesn't sell" as opposed to putting something cool on the cover. But art taste vary tremendously.

I see that they've got a lot of those miniature things coming out too in the ads. May have to check them out.

i have to agree. they really have taken a rather obscure villan and made something meaningful out of him. not to mention, the adventure is loaded with other nostalgia bits. :)

Yeah no joke. I think I am loving the Background, History and Story more then anything else. They have managed to really add spice and flavor to old Greyhawk names, places and events. At the beginning of Age of Worms, it didn't seem to grab my interest but now it me in a death grip waiting for the next issue.

I am already kind of interested to learn what they are going to do with AP #3.

I would love to see something dealing around Iggwilv especially with all the recent attention she has received.

Yes, some material in a recent Dungeon Issue and quite a few recent issues have Dragon have covered her infamous book.

"Palace of Plenty" appears to be missing entries for areas 9, 10 and 11 in the Lord's House. Am I the only one who noticed that?

I can't believe I missed that at first glance. It's pretty odd, especially considering area 9, in particular, seems to be somewhat important.

Dragons basically ARE gods in most oriental settings, but are not quite invincible. Anime characters like Goku and Inuyasha seem able to do in a dragon as the climax of a story arc, so it's not inconceivable that dragons might have stats. I'd say it's a DM call - I could easily see it swinging both ways and it's not necessarily something that needs to be dictated to him.

Leaving aside the "oriental flavor of dragons" debate, the adventure has the Void Dragon as responsible for some things that seem beyond normal dragons. Add that to the fact that there are no actual monsters called void dragons, and it seems to be more than just a creature.

The Palace of Plenty, by Tito Leati - This Oriental Adventures adventure has the PCs investigating attacks by degenerate beasts in a frozen land. They uncover how the peaceful Yayosei people of the region, when they tried to use the power of the Void Dragon to stop time, caused the energies to cause them to turn into monsters. Now, the PCs must invade Amata Goten and destroy the Timeless Hourglass to end the threat.

This sounds like a great issue all around. What level is the adventure quoted above?

Whoops! Sorry for the omission everyone. Somehow we left the text for those encounter areas out of the final version. We will include the missing text in the Web Enhancement for that issue, but in the meantime I have posted it here:
