Dungeon 158 way behind schedule?

So, let me get this straight, they're streaming out parts of an entire electronic-only magazine bits at a time per month instead of having an entire magazine available on a certain day of the month like clockwork?

Are you kidding me?

If this is your preferred model, simply ignore the website until the end of the month and then grab the complete issue. Problem solved.

Those of us who like regular updates, however, will continue to grab them as they come.

Best of both worlds!

Ah lovely... what are the odds that something wont be up until after October!

"Yes, we suck... but please pay for this subpar beta product"

In the interests of civility, I'm going to bite my tongue and suggest that you perhaps underestimate how much work it is to put stuff like this out and how much great stuff they've put out, keeping to their schedule for the most part.

Why would this be relevant. They already stated that part of the October stuff will still be available for free, like the Barbarian Play-Test.

So Dungeon actually comes out the last week of the month? I have been only reading bits of Dragon (I think) and can't really tell which is which from a glance of them.

So Dungeon has all adventures released at the end of the month correct?
As stated already, they have been trickling out content all during the month, then at the end (when all content is released), they compile it into a single PDF download.

You'll notice that when you download the individual bits, the pages are numbered as if they are part of a larger magazine.

Eh I wouldn't say the whole thing does... It's just most of it's content seems to hit towards the end of the month.

So it would be better to subscribe for a single month maybe near the end of the month when the meat of the publication comes?

See if you want the issue at all by talking to others that have read the table of contents, and just get all the good stuff with a subscription the last half of the month, and have the chance to check the next month table of contents yourself to see if you want it of skip a month.

I think that the Table of Contents will be available to everyone, each month. That would make the most sense to pull in short term subscribers like you are suggesting.

From what I understand, the way it's going to work is basically you can access everything on the website (except for the non-pdf articles, like Confessions of a Full Time Wizard), and you're only going to get blocked when you try to download the PDFs. So you should be able to see not just the table of contents, but the article summaries as well.

Worth noting that while they do try to number of the pages as they'll likely appear in the final magazine, their page counts/guesses aren't always accurate, so in the final compiled version the page numbers of some articles (particularly ones later in the issue) get shifted a bit.

Not really important, but an interesting bit of trivia.

You would really prefer to wait to get everything when everything is ready, rather than getting each piece when the individual piece is ready? Really?

Seems to me that's one of the benefits of the electronic format. You don't have to wait to get everything all at once. Why would you expect them to maintain the same release model when switching to an electronic format?
