Dungeon 89 stats for Orcus.

Why wouldn't Herc be more powerful than Orcus? He was in the 1st edition.

And yes the 18/100 is the strength of Flexor the Mighty!!!!!

Two reasons Flex

1. Orcus has killed gods. Hercules hasn't.

2. Hercules is only a demi-god, and thus when he's dead, probably won't come back. Orcus has already proven he's pretty close to unkillable. (Though I'm sure my mate Krusty will say otherwise! :) He's who I'm consider Mr Epic Level. :) )

18/ 00

You must be talking about previous editions of D & D... I know not of any score with a '00' in it... and those stats do seem to be way to low for a demon prince of his power.

I don't know about officiality , but I'd use the stats in Dungeon. People may argue which stats are closer to 'truth', but the CC stats are just unusable. In the 'you die' way. If I ever wanted my players to encounter Orcus, I'd use the Dungeon stats.

I prefer the Orcus stats in Dungeon over the ones from the Creature Catalog. In fact, I think all the demon lord in the CC are super inflated.

Inflated compared to WHAT? Oh, your little adventurers going up against one of the 100 most powerful unique beings in the multiverse. There is a reason why several adventures have revolved around Orcus. His tiny pecs are not one of them. The converted Orcus in the CC is about right. You need 40 Epic levels before you are worthy to even think his name.

-Fletch!

The stats in Dungeon magazine are not official - don't ask me how I know (can't reveal my sources on this one).

The Conversion in Creature Catalogue represents Orcus as a Lesser God (as he was in 1st Ed.) The stats in Dungeon are more akin to a Demigod.
