Dungeon Adevnture Path - anyone play it?

Has anyone played or run the Dungeon Adventure Path (or at least read it)? What did you think? Would you recommend it? How "fast" is the pace of levelling? Is it all-enclusive or do you need to add any filler?

If there have been any other threads on this, please let me know. Thanks!

A very good ressource is the paizo.com message board. They have a subsection entirely devoted to the AP. Also,I always recommend reading story hours about it.

Finally, we've just played one session, though I've read all modules. It is very tough (especially in the beginning), so you might have to include some filler to keep the PCs at the right level (level loss from raising), but other than that it covers all 20 levels.

I suggest at least skimming through all modules so you know what ends up being important.

I have also fleshed out Cauldron by adding games from "tournament, fairs & taverns" (ENPublishing) and a lot of info from "Kaiser's Bazaar" (Mad Kaiser Games) - an excellent ressource.

I'm doing it a little different, but I don't know how its going to work yet since we've only run one session, and I can't seem to get the campaign off the ground.

If the characters complete an adventure and they aren't at the minimum level to start the next adventure, I'm allowing the players to level up their characters to the minimum level. I'm not sure if this will have any impact, but the general idea was to run it like a series of TV episodes (Think Hercules), as opposed to a continuous campaign with filler between adventures as needed.

However, the Path looks good, I've heard a lot of good things from people who have done it, and I'm really looking forward to getting it going.

I'll doubly say it's tough. I've run it all the way through to Secrets of the Soul Pillars, and had a blast doing it, so has my group - not a whole lot of deaths, but I was being too lenient in the beginning.

If I were to run it again, I would say - know your players. If you have someone who plays the lone wolf and likes to do things on their own, the adventure path will probably be tougher. It really pays to have a party dynamic that allows for some tension, but when you're deep in a dungeon, there's not really any arguments - everybody knows their role.

Here in the STory Hour Forum, there should be at least two on the first page.

Look for "Shackled City" or "Cauldron".

JollyDoc's is great, as you will get to see a group of fairly min-maxed characters beaten to pulp :)

Another great SH is Lazybones'. While it is a total "story" vice based off of people playing around the table. I highly recommend it.

The chars are great and while they are not the most powerful ever created, he does use them to the best of their abilities.

Just my two coppers on it...
