Dungeon Adventure Levels

So, I decided to do a histogram of the current 4e Dungeon adventures by party level (not including Side Treks). I thought the results were interesting.
S indicates Scales of War adventures. M indicates Touch of Madness. * is the rest.

Note that the only 1st level adventure published for 4e in Dungeon so far is for the Scales of War adventure path adventure. The paragon tier has gotten a lot of love. But it seems like the heroic tier is really missing adventures. For a new edition, shouldn't Dungeon be filling out these levels so parties can get their start?

Maybe the writers got tired of writing kobold encounters?

The "*"s kinda look out of place with the other letters used in your histogramm. ;)

I think too there should be some more low level adventures. But I can see growing tired from Kobolds and Goblins. Still, doesn't help the 4E beginner to start off a campaign.

That said, there are a bunch of low level adventures around. The RPGA adventures, H1-3, goodman games, etc. Its not as though there's a shortage specifically of low level adventures generally.

Which is why we need the adventures, so they can do adventures with other low level monsters so we can have the stats!

Interesting... I would've guessed more Heroic level adventures. Perhaps they've resolved that it is much easier to write your basic early level adventures than it is to write some higher level ones?

I'd love to see a few really great nonstandard level 1 adventures - that is to say 80% puzzles, skill challenges, and roleplaying situations. Give a chance to show off some of the non-combat elements of 4E early on ... perhaps with suggestions for scaling them up +10/+20 levels as two pages at the back of the adventure. ::shrug::

I just bought a DDI subscription a few days ago. I've made homemade dungeons for my party and they're now 5th level and I was excited to read through the Dungeon magazines looking for good adventures for them, but I was really disappointed by the absence of level 5 adventures. Also the only 6th & 7th level adventures are Scales of War. (And personally, I don't like the concept of Adventure Paths - I'd prefer if every adventure was standalone or at most a two or three part connected adventure.)

Don't get me wrong, I think the subscription is a good value. I was disappointed with the adventure spreads but I can still read all the adventures looking for ideas to mine.

I was just thinking this the other day. Not enough low level adventures. I do enjoy access to Dungeon but it lacks in usable adventures for my party. Sure you can get the GG stuff for now, but I think maybe WotC should concentrate on lower level stuff at times. A 12th level adventure is cool to read and all but I won't be using it for a long while, we start a 1st level and play once a week and it's been slow going.

Bump. Maybe Simplicity will update the histogram in the OP.

I'm attaching an Excel spreadsheet I made as an index to all the 4E Dungeon adventures. The totals sheet is essentially the histogram.

If you can't open an Excel doc, pasting text:
