Dungeon Clings, Terrain for laminated battle mats

Something that I have recently been trying out has been terrain printed out on card stock, and then stuck in place with poster stick. It works very well for both poster maps and for my chessex battle mat. I would imagine that it'll work just as well on nearly any surface.

My next project will be to apply some poster stick to some of Fat Dragon's EZ Dungeons 3D cardstock terrains. The only thing that I'm worried about with those is the possibility that I might squash the walls or whatnot while sticking them or unsticking them to the playing surface.

I've got a dry erase battlemat from Crystal Caste, which so far as I know is standard DMing equipment.

But I find erasing and redrawing to "scroll" the map to me a messy and tedious process that slows down the action.

If there were a way to do it, I'd like to draw the maps on something cheap and possibly disposal, like cling wrap or something. Just need a clear plastic to see the squares beneath, be able to write on it with a dry erase pen, and have it not get smudged if it's stored for a while rolled up.

Anything like that exist? Is there a better approach to predrawing that I'm not thinking of?
