I personally feel that the most current issue is by far the very best dungeon issue ever. This is of course issue number 100, filled with githyanki info. The subject matter aside, I really like the mix of usuable game content tied to the adventures/ theme of the issue, adventures for various levels and the assorted mix of critical threats, global positioning and the new allies section. All really top notch. This issue was even better then some recent issues of Dragon. If you haven;t gotten it yet, make sure to check it out.

My point is I would like to poll what the rest of you think. I suggest that they drop polyhedron, just call the magazine Dungeon and continue to put a mix of adventures and new game material (monsters, feats, etc).

Also, I think you should offer advertisers deals to publish the same ad in both magazines if you don't already.

I wish the magazine the best, and if it continues to have content like #100 I will buy all of them :)

I loved Dungeon 100; I'd prefer to get rid of Poly (option #1).

That said, if the only way to keep Dungeon viable is to keep Poly, then by all means keep it, so long as they keep putting out quality adventures. They could go to black-and-white, non-glossy paper and drop all the comics for all I care, so long as the density and quality of adventures remains high.

my preference would be for them to keep Polyhedron and drop Dungeon.

i don't use canned adventures but i think the mini-games are just great. :)

Re

I like Dungeon Magazine alot. I don't like Polyhedron at all. I would prefer Dungeon to be chock full of adventures and materials useable for D&D campaigns.

If Polyhedron can't stand on its own, then get rid of it. I do not like having it attached to Dungeon. I am fairly certain it was attached because Dunegon is a popular magazine and Polyhedron is not. They were hoping that Polyhedron would become more popular when combined with Dungeon, but I still have no interest whatsoever in Polyhedron. Just give me a quality Dungeon magazine and I am happy.

Dungeon, Dungeon, Dungeon all the way !!! Polyhedron be gone.

Addition: Its not that the Polyhedron games or material is bad quality. I just want Dungeon to be Dungeon. It is a good stand alone magazine.

If i wanted Polyhedron, I would buy Polyhedron. I can't imagine anyone requested that Polyhedron be added to Dungeon. I know I didn't, and I can't help but think the magazine was forced on those of us who just want Dungeon magazine.

I'm with Celtavian on this one.

Poly should be a web-zine if they cannot afford to keep themself in print!

As for Dungeon, I really miss having those nice online maps available. It made it easier than trying to find a photocopy machine for handouts. Most people have color inkjet printers these days too. I REALLLLLLY liked the online maps. :)

Now all I see is Poly sucking up ink at the end of my Dungeon magazine. Not cool. Don't get me wrong, I liked the idea behind some of those mini-games, but I doubt I'll every play any of them. I'd rather have more Dungeon!

Poly as a webzine is an idea. Don't know how they'd make any money at it. But I agree, it needs to go.

Just...let it goooooooo! :)

I agree. polyhedron is nice, but I would never buy it stand alone.

i chose option 1.

cause you really don't want to hear me rant.

it is not the best Dungeon ever.

but i hate Poly even more. i didn't used to. only started hating Poly in the late 80's/early 90's.

however, until they revert back to the days of 1ed and Basic D&D adventures Dungeon never will be as good as it was.

;)

Dungeon

I have NEVER used any adventure from Dungeon magazine.. .but what I can get out of each one is ideas for my own. In my way, they never suck... always fresh. s for Polyhedron.. .well.. same thing.. never played a mini game.. but many cool ideas I can take out of them.. .so I have no problem paying a high price.

why does it have to be so upscale?

I've been w/ Dungeon since issue #1 & only recently let my subscription die. I think the publishers are so fixated on producing a slick, full color magazine (ie expensive to produce) that they've missed the point. Adding Poly to the mag is justed wasted space for me.

Dungeon was a great resource in the days before OGL & d20. For a busy DM such as myself, I could easily modfy at least one adventure/issue FMC. Paizo seems utterly convinced that what they're providing is a "great deal" compared to what Necromancer, Privateer & Green Ronin as well as the other top shelf independents are producing. Frankly I don't agree. I've ran a couple of the d20 adventures from Dungeon, but I find I get much more value from the independent d20 companies now.

Paizo should take a look at the Demons & Devil module from Necromancer & the upcoming products along the same line, as a viable model for Dungeon. Color on the cover, great adventures w/ decent B&W illos, good maps will be fine. Who says it has to be a magazine? Jack the price up to 10.00 or more if need be, go low tech if that's what it takes and COMPETE w/ the independent adventure providers.

They need to seriously re-think their business model & find out what DMs need & will buy. Clearly Poly isn't a part of that.

YMMV...
