Dungeon Siege Movie

Why Boll again?!? Damn it! Why do they let him ruin what could be good franchises? House of the Dead, ok, not much plot there, but Alone in the Dark could have been a damn good movie! And Dungeon Siege, well, it got me bored before I completed it, but come on, a popcoron fantasy flick could work. They don't all have to be LotR. Instead, we'll get crap again.

Haven't you all figured it out yet? Uwe Boll is a tax deduction.

Whenever a company or group of investors wants to burn money off they give him 20 odd million to make something crap.

You'll probably find that they have insured their investment to regain their loss with profit or something.

Whoah, I checked out Bloodrayne's Imdb page. It has some kickarse actors: Ben Kingsley, Micheal Madsen, Michelle Rodriguez and has beens like Billy Zane and
Meat Loaf.

WTF?

How does :):):):) like this happen?

I have to see that Dungeon Seige was the best game that my computer ever played. That's right, not me, my computer. You see, the AI was effective to the point where all you had to do was sit back and let the game run itself in combat, occasionally hitting h or m for health or mana. Dungeon Seige 2 is supposed to correct this and several other issues (including the plot, or rather, the lack of one, and actually make the characters have, you know, character).

Actually spot on. Through a loophole in German tax code studios who 'rent' their films from German investor groups, Major studios are able to recoup production costs plus an extra 20 million or more, so long as principle casting and shooting is done in Germany. Thus in a screwed up kinda way its cheaper to make megablockbuster type flicks than the artsier ones (at least for American companies anyways), and whenever a release touts the fantastic amount of money blown on a film's production (10 hojillion dollars, most expensive movie evar!!1!) it's usually a peel. I believe at Wikipedia (or through google) they have a linked article talking about this.
(This was discussed a bit over the weekend over at Shacknews, so I've learned a fair bit about the good Dr. Boll)

Agreed. The game sucked IMO. But a halfway decent fantasy popcorn movie, a hollywood flick, based on special effects and one-liners, with an off-the-shelf plot and average dialogue, would have already been a good way to spent two hours. In the hands of Boll, however, it will simply be yet another spectacularly bad fantasy movie in the vein of Dungeons and Dragons.
