...two sheets of threedimensional terrain elements, allowing you to create platforms, staircases, and other dungeon fixtures.

Anyone seen these?

I wonder how they will work.

Probably the same way any of the various papercraft gaming terrain is out there, ie: The Official WorldWorks Games Store!, Exceeding Your Expectations One Game at a Time or Stones Edges - Free Samples

Fold along dotted line, put tab A into slot 1, tab B into slot 2, etc, etc. Heck, just look at those "constructable collectible strategy games" like Pirates that WizKids used to make.

I wonder how they will work.

Heck, there have been folding paper models used in gaming for years. Back in the early 80's TSR even came out with a set or two. Fat Dragon Games, Skeleton Key Games and a slew of other companies already have this sort of product out. They would have to be pretty freaking fantastic for me to get interested in. I prefer 3D to tiles, so the DT sets have never really excited me. Adding a few 3D models is kind of pandering IMO. With all the really good products already on the market, it seems like they are trying to pull focus away from other products - but then, I may be reading WAY too much into this, which is quiet possible.

I wonder how they will work.

Don't know that we should assume they'll be cardstock -- you could certainly do something of the more usual tile weight with slots and tabs to make for 3D elements. I'm pretty curious either way.

(I am a big fan of the papercraft, FWIW. Lots of Fat Dragon PDFs in my library.)

I'm aware of the fold and paste and Fat Dragons works. (which are freaking cool).

My issue is they never seem to be built to travel. I game in public a lot and at conventions and need to haul that stuff around.

I have a hope that the tile set is more compatible with my travel/packing needs. Something I can collapse and carry. Something that can be rebuilt or unfolded to 3d without to much fiddling around.
