Universal Studios Hollywood will feature the Dungeons & Dragons franchise in one of its first Universal Fan Fest Nights in 2025. The amusement parks will expand its after-hours offerings in the spring with three Universal Fan Fest Nights events, which are described as featuring "immersive experiences, celebratory moments, themed food, and exclusive merchandise." In addition to Dungeons & Dragons, Universal Studios will also feature Back to the Future and Star Trek at separate events taking place in Spring 2025. The Universal Fan Fest Nights events were developed by the creators of the popular Hollywood Horror Nights events that run throughout the fall. For the time being, the Universal Fan Fest Nights will be limited to Universal Studios Hollywood only.

It will be interesting to see how the D&D Universal Fan Fest Night event performs, especially in comparison to the much larger Star Trek and Back to the Future franchises. Universal also has several directions from which to pull inspiration for the Fan Fest features, ranging from the popular Baldur's Gate 3 video game to the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie to the 1980s D&D cartoon (which featured a Dungeons & Dragons roller coaster that sent the main cast of characters into the "world of D&D") and of course the actual worlds of the game itself.

No further details were announced about the upcoming events, but Universal is pushing fans to sign up for email updates to stay up to date on news.

I hope it does well. Unfortunately, as much as I like the park’s attractions, I now avoid Universal Studios Hollywood because the crowds have become absolutely insane since opening the Nintendo themed area. Last time we went we spent a minimum of two hours waiting in line for rides, sometimes over three. And their prices rival Disneyland, especially if you pony up to “fastpass” tickets.

I suppose the same question could be asked if D&D's fandom really bigger than Star Trek??

I don't think it matters. There's only so many tickets they can sell, as long as they sell out...doesn't matter which one has more fans.

well its in my hometown, so might be worth getting some tickets to check this out! I took my husband to SW night at Disney and it was a blast, sounds like universal studios is trying some of the same.
