Guess what I do for a living?

I'll give you a hint.

I'm not allowed to state the things I put in caps in the course of doing my job. Nor use the snark in the other things I posted.
Unless the snark is carefully worded and full of disclaimers? ;)

Yay, just placed my order!

Got 11 books for $51 shipped... Not too shabby. Picked up a lot of eberron stuff and some other random things (Stronghold Builder's Guide, for instance).

10 of the books were under $0.60, and 9 of them were under $0.10. The only "expensive" book was Unearthed Arcana, at a whopping $5 :)

Anyone who hasn't got Lords of Madness should do so immediately! It's destined to go down as one of my top 5 books of the 3rd Edition era.

A couple of things to keep in mind.

Standard $3.99 shipping from the marketplace ("new and used") takes 2-3 weeks, as the book is shipped USPS Media Mail (aka "book rate"). This is especially important to know if you are ordering textbooks for school from the marketplace. Oh, and "Expedited" shipping means getting it in a week to a week and a half. NOT TOMORROW!

You are buying a book from a seller, not Amazon.com. If you have trouble with the sale, you need to work with the seller directly for resolution. If (and only if) that fails, then you can file an A-to-Z claim for a refund. STOP HOLDING THE "MALL" RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ONE OF THE "SHOPS" IN THE "MALL"!
So far, only once I had a problem with a seller on Amazon Marketplace. Amazon gave me a refund very quickly.

Thanks for the heads up! I got Lords of Madness, Eberron Players Guide, Magic of Faerun, Races of Eberron, The Shining South (Forgotten Realms), and Magic of Incarnum for under $24.

its a black mark on the edge of a closed book. The above link has a good picture.

hmm 4$ shipping and handling per book. That matches my best deat from a used book bin - I will prolly pick up a few of the titles.

Thanks for the explanation. I bought a copy of Tears of the Gods, by Raymond Feist, on the weekend, and it had a black marker mark on the top. It was $1.99, and I wasn't sure why. Now I know what it's for...

And you learn something new every day..:)

Excellent!

I always like it when a fellow gamer gets a good deal, especially when I've got one as well.

I grabbed a few things myself: Waterdeep, Dragons of Faerun, Ancient Empires of Faerun, Lords of Madness. I even picked up a print copy of Chaositech that I've been trying to get for a while.

Last month, I scored an additional copy of the PHB, one copy of Lords of Madness, one copy of Liber Mortis, and one copy of Heroes of Horror from "bookoutpost" via Amazon. All new. All about five to seven dollars each.

The Lords of Madness book had a bad binding when it arrived, though when I let the seller know, they sent out a brand new replacement copy at no charge (via Priority Mail) and included a pre-paid Media Mail evelope so that I could send the damaged copy back.

I highly recommend them.

I find this interesting as I normally shop at Amazon Japan.

In the last few days, they have noticeably cut back their selection of 3.5 books. Books that wer available are no longer available, or have changed form shipping immediately to shipping in 2-3 weeks.

Has anyone noticed books being taken off th shelves in brick and mortar stores in the states like Barnes and Nobles?
