Dungeons of Dread Preview 8

That "Skeletal Tomb Guardian from DDXP" posted in this thread is the same creature, that's just what's on the RPG side of the card (I have one.)

Remember what you're looking at here are the stat cards for the miniatures game. There are still significant differences between the two games, the most major of which is how much damage a single attack does in each game. Cascade of steel in the RPG isn't going to be doing an average of 25 damage per hit; per the RPG side, it does d8+6.

"Mastermind" on the mind flayer card is just a keyword. It is something you can use for keyword-related powers in the minis game, like the Eternal Blade's champion effect that lets her give an ally +2 attack/+10 damage vs. creatures with a keyword of your choice. There could be a future creature that gets +2 speed when in a warband with a Mastermind, that sort of thing.

I think this is a big factor. While the skeleton has lots of attacks, they don't do a lot of damage overall for a 10th level challenge. Especially if you toss in one of those magic items that grants weapon resist 5 for a round.

This guy looks like a monster that continues to throw on damage through the combat. He clogs up the battlefield. If you don't deal with him, he'll just keep throwing out some damage. A perfect elite imo.

I also think that the HP on this monster is wrong - the Hooked Horror has almost 40 more hp despite being non-Elite (though 3 levels higher). From what we've seen, the Tomb Guardian should have something like 250 HP.

Exactly. That's why I posted the DDXP Skeletal Tomb Guardian, to bring home the point that the D&D stats and powers are different to the Minis stats and powers.
